View Full Version : Anyone know Mike Creed ? JWJAMES53@MSN.COM ? schmolke 08-04-2004, 04:46 PM  I purchase some cranks from "Mike Creed" almost 2 weeks ago and still have not received them. I paid via paypal and nothing. Any info would be apprecieated. roddw 08-05-2004, 08:33 AM I have purchased items from Mike Creed, and he has always delivered as advertised. roddw ewitz 08-05-2004, 10:25 AM this Mike Creed? http://www.uspsprocycling.com/teamfile/04profile_creed.htm blazingsaddles 08-05-2004, 10:34 PM I think you have a problem Mike Creed is a proffessional racer with the usps postal team he raced formerly with prime alliance before making the jump to the postal team and is a very accomplished racer that sells stuff on road bikereview I really hate to do this and say what I'm going to say but it is all true I have all the e-mails to back up my claim but based on my experiences with him my suggestion is to file a claim with paypal asap before your 30 day limit to file with paypal.I have bought several items from Mike in the past about 5 transactions all via paypal most without a problem, once he transposed my confirmed paypal address with my work address that I wanted the item shipped to so the item came back to him as a unknown address but he promptly resent the item overnight so instead of recieving my item in 3 days it took more than two weeks which was frustrating.I did have other succesful transactions after that one with Mike without any problems But recently I can say don't buy from him because in late april he had an ad for deda alenera full carbon integrated handlebars I paid him $250 on may 2nd he was supposed to ship the bars out usps priority mail realizing that he was a pro racer who probably travels alot so I waited two weeks then e-mailed him he replied "I'll check" I never heard back from him and after several e-mails to him asking where were my bars i finally decieded to file a claim with paypal but it was beyond the limit to file a claim. He e-mailed me saying that he had several packages sent back but was gone so he sent me a automated usps e-mail with a tracking # and said the package was on the way but according to the tracking # "the shipper had notified usps about the package" thethe e-mail had the shipper's address and my address but no further information so after over 3 months I'm still out of $250 I can't file with paypal because too much time has passed to file a claim I trusted him and waited too long. So in my opinion DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM MIKE CREED no matter how good the deal seems I think he has good intentions and most of the time the product arrives but in some cases you will either have too wait long for your item or in my case never recieve it.I really have no recourse now I was eventually going to post a bad trader response but this is my chance to tell my story like I said I have all documents to back up my story.I'd like to take a drive up to the San Francisco for the race up there or next time he races in Redlands or the sea otter classic which are not very far from me and introduce him to my attographed Reggie Jackson bat, but I am not a violent man but I believe that what goes around comes around and he doesn't have the integrety and honesty to send me my money back or my bars. Thanks for hearing my long story schmolke 08-06-2004, 05:45 PM Thanks for the story. This is exactly was is going on right now !! Thanks for hearing my long story Dave_Stohler 08-07-2004, 04:58 PM Just wondering why Mike Creed would use the name "JWJAMES53@MSN.COM "? MSN e-mails are a dime a dozen, and a favorite of scammers. Also, an abnormally large # of Nigerian scam artists use the pseuodonym "James". Chances are, one of 2 things have happened: 1) Some Nigerian scammer is name-dropping by using Mike Creed as a reputable name, without the real Mike Creed knowing about the scam. 2) Some scam/hack specialist (likely not Nigerian) has hijacked Mike Creed's account, and is ripping people off. Maybe the real Mike Creed doesn't know, due to not selling anything recently. Either way, you've waited too long, so now your screwed. Sorry. 2Fast2Furryious 08-11-2004, 09:19 PM Hahaha. Insert schadenfreude here. jwjames53 08-12-2004, 07:56 AM Thanks for the story. This is exactly was is going on right now !! Randy and others: Clarifications: # 1 I'm not a Nigerian scam artist. # 2 I'm Mike Creed Sr., my son is Mike creed Jr, USPS # 3 I use jwjames53 because using mcreed53 has filled my mail box with request for Lance autographs and Postal swag which I can't even get myself ! # 4 I've never screwed anybody here, if there is a problem they should e-mail me or call me, I've provided phone numbers to everyone that has requested it. # 5 I can provide a lengthly list of people that have purchase items from my son and myself. I've sold his stuff for him because of his travel and being out of country. # 6 I'll be the first to admit that I'm slow sometimes in sending stuff out, but it always gets there. # 7 Anyone that has any doubts can contact me ! # 8 I apologize to those that feel they are being misled, I'll gladly take care of your issues to your satisfaction, I'm not here to screw people over. MC schmolke 08-15-2004, 07:52 AM Mike, I received the Cranks and Bottom Bracket on Friday. Thanks for communicating with me and shipping the items next day air. You turned out to be a good trader ! MC Dave_Stohler 08-18-2004, 05:23 PM Funny, isn't it-now he's a "good trader"?? I'd hate to see what his definition of "poor trader" is.... If this were EBay, I'd give only "neutral" feedback, and then only if I were feeling charitable. Some people have complained about the way I continually grill first-post posters about their glowing testimonials about mundane purchases. I think this post is a good example of why I don't trust most online-auction/purchase feedback. * colbrio 09-11-2004, 06:30 PM I've purchased numerous items from Mike Sr/Mike Jr. The prices have been very fair and always delivered on time. The prices are very close to wholesale and the Creeds have always been willing to negotiate on multiple purchases. I've purchased two Polar heart rate monitors and power output units and the items were in the condition described and arrived in a timely manner. I would not hesistate to do business with them again. rookiewinsrace 11-08-2004, 10:07 PM I sent payment via PayPal to JWJAMES53@MSN.COM for Shimano Dura-Ace 7800 pedals last Sunday. I don't want to overreact, but lack of response to my emails makes me nervous about this transaction. Any information will be greatly appreciated. colbrio 11-09-2004, 05:13 AM  I purchase some cranks from "Mike Creed" almost 2 weeks ago and still have not received them. I paid via paypal and nothing. Any info would be apprecieated. I purchased some Speedplay zero pedals posted the same day as your pedals. Mike's dad travels and he did not pick up my Paypal transfer for about five days. When he returned the pedals were sent out priority mail and I got them in two days. I've dealt with the Creed's on a half dozen occasions and they have always delivered what was stated at great prices you would not find in any LBS or swap meet. Be patient. Paul rookiewinsrace 11-23-2004, 01:21 AM Friendly piece of advice, Mike - improve communication with your customers and streamline your shipping cycles- maybe get a cell phone and a laptop and take them with you on your travels. If you do this, you will be the undisputed king of online marketing of cycling items - your prices are remarkably low, and evidently, you have a lot of integrity and deliver the goods as described. Thanks, Mike - talk soon! Victor. jmeitz 12-01-2004, 05:24 AM I know i am going to hear it from you guys but took my chance and ordered a Polar 720i from Mike Creed. I exchanged several emails with him and he said the item would be shipped out Monday. After paying by paypal i have not heard from the guy. I email him once a day to find out if he shipped the item out but no response. I tried to search for the item i purchased in the classified section and it is no longer there. Should i be real concerned or just give this guy some time? rookiewinsrace 12-01-2004, 11:09 AM Mike Creed delivers good quality products at a great price...is it worth the long wait and frustration from lack of communication, you decide, I'd say probably not. jmeitz 12-06-2004, 03:20 PM Mike Creed turned out to be a good seller. Recieved the items within a week or so of ordering all in new condition like he promised. His emailing might not be up to speed but he delivers the goods. Thanks Mike, would do business again with him. ;) mcreed53 12-19-2004, 10:21 AM  I purchase some cranks from "Mike Creed" almost 2 weeks ago and still have not received them. MC vico911 01-24-2005, 08:31 AM I have purchase several items from him in the past and never had a problem with him, he is an honest person and always giving the best price possible, I will highly recommend buying from him, about the shipping he tries to get the item to you as soon as possible, if there is any delay on the shipping, then email back to him and he will respond as soon as possible. My experience dealing with him has been excellent. A++++ Thanks, :) Victor jbro 08-16-2005, 04:22 PM For what it's worth, I just got a great deal on a set of wheels from Mike Creed, he's a great seller and I'd gladly buy from him again. condor63 08-25-2005, 02:56 PM I have personally purchased over $2300.00 worth of product from Mike and have saved over a $1000.0, he might not ship immediatelly and have a wait of 3 week's, but you will not find anyone with these discount prices period. If you don't have patience to save BIG $$$'s, don't buy, but if your patient, he delivers new products at Great discounts. A++++ Seller keno 08-28-2005, 09:01 AM I've purchased 3 sets of pedals and 2 Polar heart rate monitors over the past few years. He has always come through. I do feel that I have had to chase a bit in order to get delivery, but I definitely trust him and would do business with him again. keno tbmichaels 09-08-2005, 12:08 AM Summing up, it sounds like: Mike Creed Sr. will only ship the items you buy from him if you harass him with emails, and then he screws up the addresses often enough that overall it can take weeks and months to get your item, and you still have about a 1/20 chance of not receiving anything and not being able to recover your money. I guess if he puts that warning at the top of every one of his auctions, there really shouldn't be any room to complain! There may be hope for this forum yet!!! TA 09-20-2005, 07:48 PM I too purchased Alaneras @ $250 from Mr Creed on RBR. Recognizing the name I congratulated him on signing w/Postal. He said that it was his son Mike and not him that had signed but was appreciative. Anyway...the bars didn't come. He gave me the same song and dance about wrong address and so on. At first I believed him. After another week the bars still hadn't arrived. I contacted him and he said something about the post office having a puter prob and that he would resend them. I told him I had decided not to take the bars. He said fine and to return them when they did arrive. They, of course, never did. He did eventually refund the funds through PP. I am not going to say he's a bad trader as he did indeed return my funds but I don't think he really had the bars. Maybe he was "going to have them".
