hi new to the forms.
im thinking about about making my first road bike purchase! and i found a Specialized A-1 Allez Elite for 400 thats in great shape just wondering if that a good deal? im not to familiar road bikes so im not to sure what to look out for! im not sure year it is but im guessing its 2002-2004

That depends on condtion and many other factors. What is your price range?
Specilaized is a great product and there are some great buy's out there.
I would want to know the exact year and group on the bike, I would also want you to know your exact fit.
Go to your lbs and see what size they reccomend for you.
The fit is the first thing to consider.
I just purchased a new Specialized at a very good discount.

ps you can buy a new 08 Allez double or triple for about $600.00

it states that it has Shimano Ultegra, rear derailluer Ultgra Cranks, Bontrager Seat and Tires (RaceXlite) and Alex rims At400s. Other than that it appears to be stock. and heres a pic!

im around 5'11 and 220 pounds im trying to have a good commuter bike for about 20 miles(thats there and back) so i would like to spend no more the 500 if possible?

Looks like a nice bike I had A Specilaized Sequoia vey similiar bike I really liked it.
I am 5' 8" 155lbs. I ride a 54cm. The size should be on the seat tube.
I would say a 56cm may be your size.
I sold my 05 Sequoia on Ebay for exactly $400.00.
