I have an older bike that I replaced the old levers on with some new aero levers. They don't stop worth crap now with the old single pivot Weinmans. Very mushy.

Shimano makes some dual pivots in long reach I want to buy, but where the calipers attach to the frame is recessed, and the current, older ones have that long bolt through the frame and calipers.

Will this work?

Thanks

Use a nut instead of the recessed allen mount, no problem. Also use the spacers in front of the frame to properly clear the calipers around the fork and stays. I think (?) this is what you are referring to.

If your frame and fork are really designed for recessed mounting,no problem with dual pivots designed for the same mounting.

Thanks for the replies

I probably worded it wrong. The newer brakes mount with recessed, but the older ones that have been there since 86 have that big bolt going thru the bridge holding the calipers on.

Then you need nut type caliper mounting.Tektro offers longer reach nutted dual pivots. Be sure of the reach,There is short(the current standard), standard and long.

Thanks a lot.

Any links to somewhere I can purchase these?

I don't see them in the usual suspects (Price point. Nashbar, Excel) and can't find anything online.

Thanks again.
