My lbs assures me that this wheel set will work with rim brakes even in the wet. I need a wheelset for wet winter riding, mostly paved, but some gravel roads and single track thrown in. I weigh 230 and he states that this is a extremely tough wheelset and it seems to be since others have used them as a 29er wheelset.

I tried that one for about 15 minutes and then decided just to build other rims instead. Here is the problem speedcity doesn't have a machined brake surface so you have to rough them in ..second these are six bolt disk compatable and they are far too nice to use on singletrack..IMO
