My wife met new friends that are into road cycling. Both me & my wife are mountain bikers and we got Stumpjumper FSR. Every time she go riding with road cyclist friends, I would change her Stumpjumper FSR to slick tires and it's kinda tiring changing from knobby to slick couple of times per week, every time she want to ride with me off-road and riding with her friends on the road.
I even thought of buying her another set of wheels for road biking use.
But when she talks about joining some competitions and triathlons, me think it's a good idea she get train with proper bike. We thinking of getting the Roubaix Elite after couple of test ride.
Local Specialized dealer quote us the 07 Roubaix Elite Triple @$1650 and the 08 Roubaix Elite Triple @$1900. We are disappointed that we could not get further discount for a repeat customer where the last 2 Stumpjumpers FSR we bought from them.
I would like to know what is the differences between the 07' & 08 Roubaix Elite Triple?
Any geometry changes between them?
Lighter or maybe improve frame for the 08?
On the components, I notice the only different is the 07' have & the 08' using SRAM OG-1070, 10-speed 11-28t. I doubt it make noticeable different.......hmmm.. do they?
On Mountain bikes components, the Shimano 08 XT is almost a complete revamp over the 07 XT components, therefore, the Shimano 08 XT components is much better components. Are there any different between 07 & 08 Shimano 105 components? Or maybe Specialized 07 & 08 parts different?
