Has anyone tried crows foot lacing? is it more durable than crossed spoking?
What hub spoke numbers are good for g3 lacing? ie. 24, 28, 32 36.

Compare the number of crow's foot wheels you see regularly to the number of crossed spoke wheels.

Take the number of spokes you want, and multiply it by 4/3 - that will give you the number of holes the hub needs to have.
Or, take a hub, multiply its hole count by 3/4, and you get the number of spokes for "g3" lacing.

Crowsfoot is not more durable, but it is fine. IMO it only makes sense if you want to use a high hole count hub with fewer spokes. Like G3, a 32h hub with 24 spokes and rim holes works the best (I guess 18 spokes in a 24h hub would be fine too), but you can do a 3/4 ratio on any hub if you are cool with skipping holes in the rim. If the rim is offset drilled, you will want to skip holes in the rim anyway.

I occasionally try to talk Campy riders into lacing Record hubs this way, but no takers yet...

BTW... crowsfoot will *not* work unless your total number of spokes is divisible by 6. There is a repeating pattern of 3 on each side of the rim that must be balanced. Triplet will work on any standard rear hub that is divisible by 4... in which case the number of spokes is divisible by 3.
