Not many people seem to like him...not sure why. He is a bit quirky I guess. Any other fans?

Do you have a copy of his immortal:

Sometimes I wish I was a pretty girl so I could soap myself up in the shower?

Fun song.

However, Globe of Frogs was excellent.

Actually BJ, I started a thread a long time ago about Andrew Bird and some odd lyrics he uses in some of his songs and you mentioned Robyn Hitchcock. I researched him and discovered I really like his music.

I never thanked you for that.

Hitchcock has some real stinkers also, but for me he has enough good stuff to make up for it. Jonathan Demme did a movie on him called Storefront Hitchcock that was pretty good. He has quite the sense of humor.

I loved his "Madonna of the Wasps".

I like RH, but prolly not a whole album's worth at any one time. He's a very funny guy. Just recently I saw him interviewed during a documentary about Syd Barrett. It was kind of weird, because he played a few bits of Syd's songs, and the similarity between that and his own work as amazing. He sings like Syd, and often comes up with song structures that are similar too.

I think RH's best work was with the Soft Boys, though. Specifically "I Want to Be an Anglepoise Lamp."
