I find it interesting that when you pick a Madone to build, the price is $3499....and then even if you pick solid paint, it automatically adds a minimum of $300. Does Trek except to people to not get a bike painted? Why don't they start the price at $3800 and then if you pick solid, only get upcharged for a 'custom solid color'.

Eh???
If you don't wanna pay that price, then don't go P1. Simple.
They should start the base price at a price that includes basic solid paint since you have to have it painted....why then slap on an additional $300 for even STOCK color.

Last year Trek had a special on project 1 paint jobs..$100.
MCF, is P1 back up? I thought it wasn't going to start until late summer :(

I have used it a couple times....but it does not look final. Here is the link:

I don't think it is fully working. Anyone know what 'future madones' means....

Really?
Yeah really....did I stustustustudder?
MCF, P1s won't be available until late summer. You can not even access P1 from trekbikes unless you already know the link. Future Madone is in reference to the 2008s. Scott Daubert has said no P1 until all existing Madone orders have been met, and so far that is late summer '08 and slipping.
