I am looking at buying an '08 Pinarello FP2 (a new Pinarello model this year) and was looking to see;
- if anyone had tracked down any reviews...
- if (could I be so lucky) someone has already purchased one...
- if anyone had any comments on the Pinarello line...

Any comments are appreciated.

I have a F3:13 , last years version of that bike. I can only assume it's as nice or nicer then the 3:13 . That being said , you get alot for the price . I ended up upgrading my wheels , cranks , and bar/stem . If you feel no need to start upgrading , i say go for it . Or even better pay around 2k for a new 2007 F3:13... If you feel you will be uprading even just the wheels I would seriously consider starting with a frame and building up... The 3:13 was my first road bike so I see it as a lesson learned..... As for ride quality , u can sum it up with balenced . not the stiffest , lightest , etc etc . but a great balance of ride .. hope that helps in any way.....

Is that a Shimano cassette on a Campy wheel?

/I need to go and lie down. :shocked:

Yes , I wasn't going to spring for the whole new group set . The ups on this frame were good enought for me . I'm building the pegoretti frame in the shot all 08 chorus , eurus wheels ,deda zero stem ,newton bar , thompson post , aliante saddle this weekend....sorry if it offended your campy pride . live with... I'm sure many would kill for the bike the way it is.......:cryin:

the FP2 is actually the replacement for the Galileo, which is an aluminum frame. the F3:13 is full carbon.

they did some revamp of the line this year:
in 2007 they had the F4:13 (full carbon), then F3:13 (full carbon), then Galileo (aluminum)
in 2008 they have the FP5 (full carbon), then F4:13 (full carbon), then FP2 ( alum)

I've got a 2007 Galileo and love it, but don't think I can speak about the FP2 as it is described as an all new bike, based off the Dogma magnesium frame, rather than an evolution of the Galileo.

regardless, I'm very happy with my Pinarello. don't know if you're aware, or if this matters, but the Galileo was made in Taiwan - not Italy. chances are good the FP2 is from Taiwan as well. I like to think it still carries the Italian cache anyway. :cool:

I love me some Pinarello..... wherever it's actually made.

Thanks for the comments/thoughts. I am getting a fit next sunday 2/24 at my nearest Pinarello dealer (an hour away) so I will let you know if I get one and what I think of it - I guess I could be the first review.

Actually I am selling my bianchi sl3 105 alessio colors alu carbon for an FP2 with campy veloce. I strongly believe that i am going to remain on the same level except for the name . do I ?
