I've never been able to stomach Hammer's stuff, but I like HEED. It tastes great, and it's nice to know you putting a good, high quality product in your system for fuel. Doesn't mix real easy like Accelerade, but it's not bad.

has anyone tried any other hammer nutrition stuff? Recoverite, sustained energy, ect... I found all this stuff on their website and am eager to try since hammergel is really the only gel that "works" for me!

Thanks :D

I use HEED. I like the taste and it works at least for me. I had a problem with leg cramps at the end of a race. Once I found this stuff I am hooked. Under 2 hours race or hard ride I add 2 scoops of HEED to a bottle and then have another bottle with either half strength Gatorade in which I might add a pinch of Lite Salt or a bottle of plain old water. Depends on the conditions of the race or ride. I also use Hammer Gel and love that to. For longer rides I use Accelerade and Gatorade.

I use HEED and think it is a very good product. I use a scoop of Endurolytes with the HEED for long rides in the heat. I have stopped using Hammer Gel and replaced it with A product from Hammer called Perpeteum. Perpeteum can be mixed as a drink or gel/paste ( my fave ). Perpeteum contains proteins, a little fat , lots of electrolytes and more calories than Hammer Gel. I also can recommend Endurolytes, Race Day Boost, and Liquid Endurance. I was not fond of Sustained Energy, it tasted like flour water.

I hope this helps.

i was wondering if perpetuem is ok for rides that are less than 90 min. the hammer web site says it's designed for rides longer than 90 and to use just hammergel for rides 90 or under. during the week we may go out a lot and ride for 1-1.5 hrs, however we are on hills most of the time.

would i be alright to get the perpetuem (and mix in paste form) and use it instead of the hammergel?

Thanks
