I'm new to the forum and new to building up a road bike.
I've recently purchased a 2005 Caad 8 road bike frame and need some help on getting the right size components and parts and whatnots.
I figure I'll start with a fork. My frame is 63cm. I'm looking for a carbon fork that will fit it. Will any ol' fork do? Or should I be looking for a specific size?
thnx
p.s. I'll be capable of providing more specifics on the frame when it arrives this week.

Front Derailleur clamp: 34.9
Seatpost clamp: 31.8
English threaded BB.
Fork; 1 1/8, 700c. Also, very important, with a 63cm bike you're going to need one that is uncut or has a long enough steerer tube.

Picked up the 1 1/8 700c carbon fork, uncut. Steerer tube is 30cm long (300mm?).
Now it's time to look for handlebars and post. What size should I bee looking for?

27.2 seatpost diameter. Whatever length you need.

And finally, how about the headset? I'm assuming I'll need a threadless headset, but I don't know the size. thnx

Make sure you get a headset that is for an integrated headset, assuming that the fork you purchased is also an integrated style fork. BTW, if you look at most newer bikes, you will notice that there doesn't appear to be a headset, especially on the lower bearing race [where the fork enters the headtube]. This is an interated headset. It is a much cleaner looking setup. Also, regarding your choice of handlebars, if you are riding a 63cm frame, then you will want no smaller than 44cm bars, possibly 46cm, if you can find them

Perhaps I jumped the gun on the fork. I don't know if its an integrated type. I guess I don't understand how the handle bars and the fork are connected via the headset. I wish I had some sort of schematic.
The fork I've got is a BSC Profile Design. It didn't come with any extra parts.
