I'll be going to Tokyo for a business trip in early March, and would like to visit Kyoto before returning home. I'll be arriving at NRT on a Monday afternoon, in meetings Tuesday and Wednesday, then flying home from Osaka (KIX) late Friday afternoon.
I figure I can catch a train to Kyoto either Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning.
I have an S&S coupled bike, and am wondering if there is enough time to bring it. I'd probably ride around Tokyo for a couple hours just to see the city from a different vantage than popping out of train stations and seeing what is within a couple block radius (have done that a few times already).
Is Kyoto sightsee'able by bike in a day? Better off on foot?
