I am one year removed from college, moved back home because it was close to where I took my first job, figured it would be good for 6mo. to get myself situated in the area again...

Working on finding a place now... trying to find a 1bdrm apartment that isnt in a run down building/area for <1300 is proving difficult.

Thats the plan... we have a ~66% attrition rate right now among new hires in their first 5 years... and with an average age of 55, there is plenty of opportunity for advancement.

Our son is now 18 and will be going away to college in the fall but after he graduates he's more then welcome to come back home and live, actually we LIKE having him here.

Theres nothing inherently wrong with it... but its time to move on and be on my own... I am not dating anyone, nor planning on getting married anytime soon... I think in your situation you had a destination (buying a house in a year). I wont be buying a house in the next 5-10 years... so theres no end in sight, just the same old sh*t... Furthermore, I get along WAAAY better with my family when we do not live together.

Also... as lame as it may sound, its a bit difficult having friends over when your dad sleeps on the couch in his pajamas till 2am... just the little things i suppose :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

My parents would be more than happy to let me live here till whenever I wanted to move out. They are happy I have a great job, although I think they are little disappointed that I am not looking towards marriage anytime soon... but thet doesnt matter...

Why not just rent a room in a house? I have one of our new engineers living in my house right now. I've rented rooms when new to a place and it's always worked out well. In fact I'm looking at moving to HB full time and will probably rent a room until I figure where I want to live.
