View Full Version : Stolen Seven

I bought a stolen Seven on eBay and tracked down the owner who is nice enough to recompensate me for my loss (he was offering an almost equal reward for finding the bike).

My question now is, what do I order? I can't afford a new Seven and can't do eBay again for an Elium, too scarred from this experience.

What is a framebuilder that is thorough with sizing and fit at a price thats lower than Seven?

I know quality will be lower but I don't have the cash right now.

Can I still get Ti? Should I consider steel?

Thanks,

RJ

How did you find out it was stolen, as well as the original owner?

I called up Seven to make sure and to get the exact measurements and they said it was "Red Flagged" the strange part is that I was given the name of the original owners LBS which has limited winter hours but they gave me no owner info and got no info from me. Then I typed stolen Seven Elium on Google and the stolen bike registry popped up with my same serial #! I emailed the guy and now he will be getting his frame back shortly.
Hopefully I can find a decent priced Ti custom, this was my exact size!

Sorry to hear you couldn't keep your purchase, but at the same time I applaud to you taking the initiative to reunite the bike to it's original owner!

I hope you find another bike in your size very soon!

It is so nice to see someone in this world doing the right thing! (You did report it to eBay, right?)

Thanks, I did report it to eBay but I highly doubt they will do anything, besides I took a risk buying from the guy. He had 25 positive feedback and only 1 negative which was as a buyer.

Hardly a high risk seller, but according to ebay if a seller has under 50 feedbacks they only insure the item for $200.
