Any suggestions for an over seas transaction that are secure?

Here's the story. I am trying to sell a bike and the prospective buyer is from Russia. He has offered to pay by cashiers check, but all the postings about people being scammed have gotten my attention. I've looked @ PayPal and it seems like a good option, but am still questioning the proper way to go about it all.

Please offer any suggetions so that I'm not another story you're reading about.
