I just got a 2005 Six13 frame off ebay along with a Reynolds ouzo Comp fork (alu steerer...) the frame came with a Cane Creek integrated heaset & dustcap ut it doesnt seem to fit right. When I tighten the top cap to snug it down, i cant move the bars... and the fork still wants to shimmy back & forth within the headset. Seems like the top cap needs to go over & around the headtube, but it's just sitting on top and sliding around.

I've installed plenty of integrated headsets before and cant figure out what's up... i'm sure its something obvious.

sounds like one of the headset parts is missing or installed backwards. Maybe see if cane creek's website has an exploded diagram of your particular headset to see if something is not right.

Sounds like you're missing some bearings.

i have both top & bottom bearings installed, plus the crown race on the fork, dustcap on top of the top bearing, then a spacer, then the stem... so friggin weird.

thanks for the replies, LBS here i come.

Six13 requires the "campy standard" headset bearings, not the "cane creek" standard. Do not confuse with the fact that Cane Creek, the company, does make the campy size bearings, but maybe the ebay guy just threw in some cane creek sized. Get out a caliper & measure the bearings.

Thanks for the tip - it seems to me like the Campy-type needs to use a centering sleeve on top of the top bearing prior to putting on the dust cap... i'm going to double-check it with an LBS just in case.
