I've got a Six13 that I've had for 6 months. Bought a leftover 2006 in fall of 07. I have Ultegra/Dura ace combo with a si carbon crank, dt swiss rr1450 wheelset. Got the new sl compact crank with ceramic bb on order. Anybody got a light six13 in the stable with some suggestions?

you've a got a good start with the cranks.

Remember Simoni rode one in the giro and the Saeco team all had t-shirt made up that said "legalize my ride" or something to the effect. Sufice it to you can build one really light.

How much do you want to spend? I'd start with cockpit (bars, stem, post, saddle) and wheels. That would pretty much get you down pretty light.

By the way.........good snag. I think I'd give left arm for a CAAD 9 with a BB30. I may have that problem solved though.

STARNUT I just swapped a set of Sl's for the dt swiss 1450's and was blown away with the difference. I know I could go lighter with the wheels, but I'm real happy with the new DT's. I'm scared to ride anything else like a system six. If it's better than my six13 I'd be amazed and sick. I'm trying to attack rotating mass first. My next move will be changing my classic keo pedals for a set of keo carbon titanium. I'm also working a deal on dura ace shifters, front dr, and a set of cannondale c1 brakes. Bike shop mechanic also snagged the same bike and is converting it to record and is going to sell me dura ace stuff that is coming off with 0 miles on it. I kind of like the nose snubs of the full carbon riders when they see all the aluminum (raw finish) on my bike. It feels good waiting on them at the top of the mountain.

Starnut: When I was att my lbs last week we talked about Caad 9 with BB30. It exist, in the Cannondalecatalog here in Europe. But Cannondale costs more than in the US, a bit over $1300 for a Caad9 frame here. But if you want to buy one maybe can fix it.

greg44 ... Someone mentioned that 08s are heavier, so I don't know if this is helpful:
Mine is a 48" '08,
Dura Ace Shifters-Derrs-Brakes,
Sram 11-28 10spd cassete,
Richtey WCS Cyclocross 48-38 170mm Cranks,
Keo Sprints,
Older Black Ksyriums SLs w/ spec all control armadillo tires & light tubes,
Specialized carbon/al bars w/ bar phat,
Cannondale fake carbon post, Spec Ti Saddle,
Carbon Cages.
It weights 18.25 lbs - Hardly a light weight bike.
Fits great and sprints like a champ!

That is a worthy upgrade for sure. Ksyriums Sls have got to be the most over rated POSs I've ever been on.

Sounds like your well on the way. Get to that cockpit and saddle and you'll be good. I know those C1 brakes are light but they suck big time. Get rid of them and get some DA or if your feeling froggy get some KCNCs.

Ya, I've already tried that one. That part number is for warranty. My understanding that those frames are unpainted and kept around for warrantys only. I already tried to buy one.

Why have a Caad9 with BB30 for warranty when they donīt sett them normally? What frames are they supposed to be changed for then, old caad7 Si or other old caad Siframes?

I guess?

All I know is that I can't buy it.

STARNUT what sucks about the c1 brakes. Right now I've got Ultegras. I need to know the downside of them before I make this deal with my mechanic at lbs.

They don't stop.............not near the power of a Shimano or Campy brake.
