I am getting a new Cannondale Synapse Carbon SL frame. I wanted the full length of uncut fork to make it as upright as possible, so the bike shop is going to switch out the fork on this frame with an uncut fork from the Carbon Synapse (not SL) frame.

Do these two forks differ? Will I notice any difference for my 54 year old club riding 18mph? Will the frame handle differently with the nonSL fork?

The SL has a Synapse S.A.V.E + fork, and the nonSL has the S.A.V.E. fork.

Thanks

I beleive the only difference is that the SAVE+ fork has carbon dropouts, and the regular SAVE has aluminum dropouts. There may be a very slight weight difference, but I'm sure it's just a few grams.

Don't forget you can only have 40mm of spacers.

You can have 55mm maximum stack height. That includes the spacers and headset top cap.

Of course you can use a stem with a higher rise, such as a ritchey, that offers there stems with a standard 6 degree rise, or a 17 degree rise. This will add aprrox 2 inches to the height of the handlebars given the same amount of spacers.
