Anybody know where I can rent a decent roadbike for a weekend in Los Angeles or SoCal? Any suggestions for a weekend ride in SoCal?

I'm not sure if they still does it, but BICYCLE JOHN'S in Burbank, a mega-high end store on Hollywood Way just south of Chandler Blvd, did rent road bikes at one time. As for weekend ride ideas, RBR's Los Angeles contingent is all over the place. Peter Rider is nuts for the truly mountainous rides in the Angeles National Forest. I'm partial to the green, hilly, ocean-view rides of the Santa Monica Mountains, such as riding along Mulholland Highway above Malibu. You can ride along Mulholland Drive and see LA spread out both to the left and right beneath you. You can join the throngs and pedal along the Pacific Coast Highway and the Beach Path. Get out a map. Take your choice. Pray that the rain stops.
