Reading the dust-up involving those who use Obama's middle name for effect reminded me of the time when W's dad, George Bush, was running for president, and someone attempted to [subtly?] castigate Bush for his upper-crust roots, perhaps fan the flames of class warfare, by continually referring to him as "George Herbert Walker Bush." As I recall, GHWB was forced for the next month to subsist on a diet of fried pork rinds so as to demonstrate the working-class roots he never had.

Was it Bob Dole who coined that line?

I understand that GHWB came from money but he was in West Texas during the early oil boom and he doubtless spent some time in the field. Chances are good that some of his meals there actually consisted of Vi-eenies and pork rinds. (That's Vienna sausages, talk about a product hiding behind a name, ugh)

You're big on speculation this week. Wait, this week?
