I have an FSA Gossamer crank with integrated bottom bracket. I have been noticing a knocking noise in the bottom bracket when I am pedaling. I checked the crank and it feels like it is a little loose or there is some bearing play. The movement is very slight. You can hear it more than feel it.
I have never worked on this type of crank or BB before. Is there a way to tighten it to get rid of the play, or are my bearings just going out and need replaced. any help is appreciated.
Thanks
What you have is a megaexo outbaord bearing bottom bracket, not an integrated BB. The cheap ones that come with a gossamer crank may not last long. Fortunately, a new one is alos cheap to buy.
For info on the installation and adjustment, go to this site and click on "aluminum megaexo crank installation". There is some adjustment possible that might help, but tightening too much may just cause binding.

IMHO the megaexo design is seriously flawed. I tried two of them on my Truvativ crank and couldn't get the clicking to stop without the cranks binding.

C-40, thanks for the info, but the link didn't come through on the post.

I believe FSA uses the MegaExo BB design, which is very similar (and compatible, I believe) to Shimano's system, while Truvativ uses GXP, which is somewhat different, even though it looks similar from the outside.
