I have a PT Pro (yellow, wired) model from about 2005-6 (bought it used, and I forget which year it is) that I'm now looking to overhaul. The wheel spins freely on the axle - probably won't touch it (ie leave well enough alone) - but the freehub is kind of stiff. When I spin the cassette with my finger, it spins down pretty quickly. I've tried cleaning with a freehub buddy, using finishline dry (teflon) lub, and it comes out the backside pretty clean. Nevertheless, it seems like there's more friction in there than should be. I've never removed a freehub body to try cleaning it that way, but I guess that's an option as well. If I were to replace it, any recommendations on brands that would be compatible with the wheel (running Ultegra 9-speed.)? Anything else I should be thinking about with this?

Thanks
Danny

You need to pull the body to clean & regrease the pawls & engagement teeth. Dumping lube into the body will not do anything but attract more grit. Saris has instructions on their site how to remove the body. If your bearing are gritty, you may need to replace the hub body or remove & press in new bearings if it take cartridge bearings.
