I'll be in Gulf Shores with my wife this weekend for a conference. She is going golfing on Sunday and I am thinking about bringing my bike. Has anyone ridden from the FL state line to Ft. Morgan? I was wondering if Perdido Beach Blvd. (SR 182) has bike lanes or rideable shoulders.

182 is good but I like the road to Ft. Morgan better. Also, can do laps at the state park.

Thanks for the reply. I'm behind in my training for 3-state 3-mountain this year and can't afford to miss a long ride on the weekend.

We usually stay somewhere near the point where 59 dead ends into the sea. We will start to Fort Morgan early before traffic picks up. Then back track and head over the bridge and turn around at Flora/Bama. Usually the wind is Brutal in one direction. Climbing the bridge is about as steep as it gets down there. We have usually found people are pretty bike tolerant for a beach town...

I take my bike every summer when vacationing with the in-laws. Very flat riding. They do have a bike lane for most of the route, but be concious of sand that may have found its way to the road as it can wash your tire out pretty quick.......enjoy!
