This is what I am looking for. Ridged SS 26" mountain bike. Something like a Redline Monocog. Looks like everything has gone to 29". I would like to purchase off the rack, ready to ride. Use would be slow neighborhood rides with the wife. Spent a while searching yesterday and was surprised I could not find anything. Price range up to $500.00, $300.00 woulb be even better.

If you are only planning to ride around the neighbourhood, I would recommend getting a fat tire cruiser. Check out something like Electra bikes, you can get a basic cruiser for under $300, with enough money left over to buy a helmet.

They are more than what you want to spend, but you can peruse them. Who knows, you might up the ante and they are on closeouts ;-)
