Well I went ahead and ordered a Rush Hour for my girlfriend yesterday. Apparently the bikes are being produced as we speak and will be available the 28th. Let's hope for sooner.
Anybody else waiting on a Rush Hour on special order?
I ordered the 50cm on advice from the LBS guys but I'm a little skeptical seeing as how she is 5'7". They seem like smart guys though. I'm sure they know what's up.
And does anybody have any other pictures than the stock photo from the website.
I didn't know I could be this anxious waiting on a bike that isn't for me.

I'm 5'7" and I would ride a 50cm Rush Hour...

Another question related to this.
I'm afraid the 48t chainring is going to be a bit too much for her at first. What is a good choice for chainring size smaller than 48t? Will any chainring fit the cranks it comes with?
And I'm going to try to get her riding it fixed, but it's her choice. With the hills around here, I like my bigger ring fixed. SS, for a new rider, maybe something smaller.
I want her to have fun.
Thanks!

I would just get a large cog instead of swapping chain rings.
I think it uses standard 130 bcd road chain rings. You can find them almost anywhere.

A 42t Chain ring with the 16t cog is a nice cruisy gear. Should be a fun bike :)

I think it is wise to question such a large chain ring. Of course everything depends on her strength and the terrain you will be riding in. The current set up with single speed is around 79 inches and the fixed is 84 inches. Common rule of thumb is 70 gear inches to start. I agree with the 42 tooth chain ring and with the 16 tooth freewheel would give you roughly 69 gear inches. (I got the numbers from Sheldon Brown's gear calculator). This might be a nicer place to start from.
