My wife has a road bike which is equipped with Campy Record 8-speed and which through various quirks of fate has some pretty low miles. I would say these parts have less then 3000 miles on them and they are in very good condition even considering that.

I am thinking we might upgrade her bike with some 10-speed parts and I'm trying to figure out what the used value of these parts is. A few months back I was cruizing ebay and getting the impression that they have a high resale value due to vintage status. Is this true? Can I sell these parts off and have them pay for a new component gruppo, say Chorus or Ultergra 10-speed?

In particular we have a spare wheelset (Record hubs laced to Velocity Deep-V rims) sitting around that has only 200 or so miles on it that I could sell right away. What should I ask for that?

Thanks

A lot...... I bought a complete 8 speed Chorus bike off eBay last year for $1000. I just wanted the frame so I parted it out... The parts sold for $800...Record will go for more

And that's the story boys and girls of how I got a custom JP Weigle frame for $200:)

Hmm, we may be able to work something out here if you can't be bothered to part it out. I have a 10 speed Campagnolo Chorus groupset that's done about 3-4,000 miles that I took off this Avanti and put onto my Colnago Tecnos. I took it off that a while back as it doesn't really suit it. Looking for some all alloy kit. PM me if you like.

The parts I have are 10 speed Carbon ergo levers, front and rear mech, 39/52 alloy chainset, Cane Creek BRS 200 SL brake calipers (I bought these as lighter than Chorus), USE Alien alloy seat post 27.2mm. No wheels though, the Mavics are used on another bike.

Mind you I do live in NZ so post cost might be a problem (or not).
