Last year's overall winner Janez Brajkovic is not listed... not that he was going to win it this year of course.

I don't know about that, he didn't TT too poorly last year and he can hold his own against some big guns as is evident by his '06 Vuelta and U23 TT World Championship.

But seeing as he's not there...

I'll look for Levi storming to a win with good performances from McCartney, and Vandevelde/Zabriskie. I'm not really sure what Hincapie's role for High Road will be, overall I'm guessing although Ihe can't really climb with some of the top contenders on Brasstown.

Ah, the sympathy vote. You'll get very good odds for Danielson winning the TdG (or anything).

As much as I'd hate to say it, seems like it's Disctana's to win.

Other things I've noted...Hamiltion is racing...not sure how I feel about that. I want to hate him for not coming clean, however he has served his time, and pretty much cost him his career.

Gerolsteiner is bringing the wrong Fothen. I'd like to see Markus in action.

I don't like Astana but do like Chris Horner, so I guess my sympathy pick is with him.

I'd put money on Tommy D imploding :P (sickness or whining)

lets create a TdG prediction thread.... I agree, this is a Rock/High Road/Astana/CSC show.... But honestly, how can Levi NOT win this? I will agree, however, that George and Levi's supporting cast is ... peculiar.

Tommy D, like always, doesn't have a prayer. Thats unfortunate... I hate people that never seem to deliver on expectations. Its like hes always chasing ghosts.

Im guilty for having a feel good homer pick like that too, I always have hopes for Vandevelde or Zabriskie. I have a love/hate for Horner, but I think his chances for the overall is Nil. I also like Juan Jose Haedo... he is one fast mofo. On the domestic scene... I want Phil Zajicek to get in the mix too.

rock racing has a "too many cooks" feel.
still, lots of names the casual fan will know.

I predict Scott Nydam will be in several long breaks.

Crazy, I know. Just have a feeling.

Levi Leipheimer for sure. With Horner there to help him, it's most likely him. Unless Horner is the other leader and somehow TTs decent enough. Which I doubt.

Wonder why Jani ain't there when they said he'd be looking to win this one.

The other one would be Tommy D coz his crew is pretty decent too I must say. But... Yeah.

George? If he manages to escape which I doubt Levi would allow...But.... Dave Z can't win it for the same reason George cant - they can't climb as well and George is a better climber than Dave Z anyway if I remember correctly.

the team leader for the race.. They have two top calibur riders who are the captains or leaders..

Since there is just a TTT this year, and no ITT. Horner may have a better chance as this year will be more of a "climbers race".
