View Full Version : Solid rear axle and Nashbar cargo trailer

The trailer attaches to a geared bike by means of a special rear skewer that replaces the normal quick release skewer. This obviously can't be used with a solid rear axle found on most fixed gear bikes. Is there an alternative, maybe unconventional, way of connecting the trailer to the rear hub? Does anyone know if the Nashbar trailer can connect to a BOB Nutz (which apparently screws onto the end of a fixed gear axle in place of the usual bolts). If the BOB Nutz will work, can I get enough clamping tension to prevent slippage, or will chain tug tensioners be needed?
Thanks.

No idea. Call Nashbar, their tech support has always been pretty good when I've had obscure stuff.

Or see the other thread about using a QR on a fixie.
