I was wondering are they easy to click and release? I have a set but currently using Look Keo pedals and thinking about runing Campy pedals to complete my Record group bike? Any reviews on those pedals?

I've put about 12,000 miles on my Campy Chorus ProFits. Because the pedals are shiny metal instead of plastic or some-such, I find them a little more slippery to click into than the Look pedals I had before. In other words, I'd put clicking in at about 5% harder. Release, meantime, (after you've broken the pedals in by clicking in and then releasing about 20 times), is considerably more positive on my Campy pedals than they were on my Looks.

As an added bonus, I've never had an accidental release in all the time I've had my Campy pedals. This is even true when I found myself riding with broken or worn-out cleats. By comparison, I regularly used to find myself wiggling out of the Looks while climbing steep (15%+) hills. Needless to say, this little glitch in performance didn't help my climbing confidence.

The Campy pedals are at least as comfortable as the Looks were. Nice stable, wide platform. A near perfect amount of float. Downsides to the Campy are weight and stack height (which some folks get all lathered over, but not me).

Bottom line, I love my Campy pedals. I'll probably keep riding them until they break (probably never) or until I can no longer get replacement cleats.

Hi,

The only "problem" with Campy pedals is they never will give you an excuse to be replaced. I use Record pedals since 2001, and believe me, they are indestructible. In addition, after 2 years you can change the plate and the inner springs and they are good to go for another two years. The only real con for me is that they look awful when old, because the clear coat on the aluminium is not the best. As for engaging and disengaging, they offer good sensation and (as Mapei also confirms) never ever had an accidental release no matter how old your cleats are or how hard you pedal.

Look cleats wear the pedal body as you use it, so in a couple of years you will have to replace the pedals for new ones due to the pedal body wear. This does'nt happen to Campy pedals.

I think it's time for Campy to revamp Record pedals with a HM carbon fiber body. I'll buy them immediately!!

I think I will give my Campy pedals a try when I get my bike back.

Jim, my buddy had bought a set of Keo Carbons then decided to get Chorus pedals to complete his group. He tried them for three rides then changed back to the Carbons. He now has Classics on his second bike and he won't try anything else. I've been using Keo pedals for a while, now, and I do not see a need to change them to any other type of pedal.

Love Them! Easy in & out, Float adjustment is great and release is easy but no accidental release. No hot spots or knee pain like I had with other pedals(Speedplay, Look, Dura Ace) I loved my Time pedals but the float was horrible way too much, all 3 adjustments did nothing and the adjustment barrel would always fall out!

I had 15,000 miles on a set of Record Pro Fits...until a little "incident" involving a car pulling out of parkling lot...into me...cracked the right pedal when bike and me hit the deck. So what'd I do? Bought a new set of Record Pro Fits...they're awesome pedals!

Love the Pro Fits. I have Record on my regular bike, Chorus on the old one. Had tried the first Time pedals years ago, but the float was too obvious and loose. Went back to clips, ended up with the Pro Fits when I got a new bike recently (after years away from biking). While I got them to keep Campy across the board, I'm sold on them. Entry/exit are easy, never have had inadvertent release. I keep the spring tension at max setting.

If you aren't a weight weenie, you could consider the Chorus over Record.
