I read the first 2 pages of a very great insightful thread on gas last night in this forum.

did it go bad and get deleted?

Set guidelines? No. Rules of thumb, yes.

Pretty much I do it for large threads where things are going wrong, or I can see they will be going wrong very soon. People stop talking about the topic, or the positions people hold on the topic, and start to talk about each other. And I do that mostly as a preventative measure, to stop things before they escalate and I end up banning people for a day or two, per the sticky.

It's pretty much a hint that enough is enough.

That was in the lounge. And Coolhand did it, with the note saying "leave the normals alone".
