Did anyone else loose the coverage of the last 100 meters? My player went back to the start and I missed the last 100 meters? WTF??

Oh, way to go Slipstream!!

I had video, but their audio cut out. And they totally screwed up by not showing Lowe and Levi finish, they kept the camera on the High Road rider through the finish line. I never saw Lowe attack and get second.

I am glad that wcsn gave us live feed, but they have some areas for improvement to say the least.

I saw the guy from Highroad finish, then the camera followed him past the line, so I didn't see Leipheimer and Lowe finish. Pretty annoying, as they were the only two who mattered. Apparently they came across together and Lowe retains yellow. That's awesome (I'm not a Levi fan...his head is big...and I don't mean his ego...thing looks like a watermelon), but Slipstream as a team dropped the ball on Brasstown. They rode awesome to reel in the break, but got lucky that Lowe actually knew what he was doing in the face of Levi and 2 teammates during the final selection.

that's what I got too. free coverage, Im not complaining. once lowe matched levis first "attack" the result was a forgone conclusion.

Turns out the High Road rider's finish matters quite a bit...

Looks like Lowe/Slipstream (and a lot others including me) didn't realize where Siutsou was on GC.

Yeah, that seems to have slipped past everyone, including the first Velonews article that was up....

Ooops!

Looks like Amateur Hour on Brasstown Bald AND with the cyclingnews, Velonews, et al. that didn't even bother checking on Siutsou's standing before reporting (and then retracting) that Lowe would remain in yellow.

The drivers of the Slipstream and Astana cars must have literally been asleep at the wheel. D'oh!

Wonder if Lowe and Leipheimer would have reacted if they didn't have the radio pieces in their ears, which must have told them not to go.

Given that no one has posted the time differential between Siutsou and Lowe at the finish, I'm curious if the GC will change again before the hour is out.

Wow. Just by watching the finish, I assumed the neither Lowe nor Levi considered Siutsou a threat.

Is it possible that they knew, yet figured they would rather fight for second on the stage than ensure a big time loss by responding to KS, then blowing up? I don't think so. Lowe especially looked to have a match left, and Levi was more concerned with trying to shake Lowe from his wheel in the last 500 than limit the time loss to KS.

Major tactical gaffe, I think.

Yeah, there were multiple screwups in that last k. Slipstream and Astana totally blew that stage letting KS go! Tough to lay into Lowe cuz he totally marked Levi's every move and ended up leaving him at the very top. I bet if Lowe knew where KS was on GC he would have went with him and dropped Levi a lot sooner...Levi is overrated imo!

Suitsou got the stage by 10 over Lowe and 16 on Leipheimer.

of lessons were learned today.. First and foremost, know who is with you in the breakaway! I'm sure Lowe and Levi both feel like crap right about now, but especially the guys at Slipstream... Still though, they should be very prowd.. They all rode well and hats off Lowe for not cracking under the pressure, also thought Sevilla put in a good ride.. Maybe he underestimated the climb?

What about the guys at High Road? I bet the feel like they just stole the whole show... You know they were probably waiting on both Levi and Lowe to respond and probably were dumb founded that neither did...

It'll be interesting to see the interviews on Velonews once they're up; that is, if anyone from Slipstream or Astana is willing to be interviewed! I'm sure High Road will be more than happy to chat!

No kidding, I remember thinking when KS went " I hope you guys know where he is on gc"

So much for "master strategist" Bruyneel, huh? That's racing 101 - know who your threats are. With something like 15 guys within 30 secs gc at the start... write the numbers on a piece of tape or something.

Good race. Levi looked like he didin't know what to do once there was no longer a wheel to suck. I think Lowe could've attacked him much sooner.

I think Levi was cooked and Slipstream dropped. Someone on slowtwitch was at the race at the decisive point and said Levi was done. He (Levi) apparently knew who KS was. From velonews:

A select few atop Brasstown Bald were already wise to the 25-year-old rider, who won the under-23 world championships in 2005. Astana team director Viatcheslav Ekimov was among them.

“Ekimov said, 'You should watch this guy,'” said Astana's Levi Leipheimer. “And yesterday he was on top of all the attacks. Sometimes people have to make that step [to the next level], and he made that step today.”

So what do you think, will it be a day for the sprinters or GC contenders? Personally, I want to see an American rider and team, Lowe/Slipstream, when America's biggest race.

Tomorrow will be an interesting day. I think Cunego will pip Schleck at the line again :D

(Sure, I'd like to see Slipstream come up with a win)

High Road is an American team too - I like Slipstream as much as anyone, but they blew the race today by getting tunnel vision on Leipheimer. High Road played their cards close to their vest and won the race today. Chapeau. High Road is WAY too strong to lose the race on a circuit race tomorrow.

is maybe this will help High Road and SlipStream find title sponsors for next year.. High Road is definately firing on all cylinders.. I hope Slip Stream will have a good race tomorrow in Liege..
