Hey everyone. In an effort to try to get some extra $$$ to buy a new SystemSix (or a comperable bike for racing this year) I am thinking about selling my 2004 Cannondale r600. The bike is in GREAT condition (with the exception of dust and a little dirt from laying around) and probably didn't even have 500 miles put on it when it was my "current" bike (I got a Giant TCR C2 a few months after getting the r600 so that's the bike that's had the miles put on it). I know that it's a little bit of an older bike, but the components are good and it is, as I said earlier, in really good condition for being 4 years old. Back when I was riding it, I upgraded the brakes (to shimano 105) so it has all 105 with the exception of an Ultegra rear derailleur. It also has a set of Speedplay X2 pedals and the carbon seatpost that my Giant came with (I put a new seatpost on the Giant). Anyway, what kind of price to you think is reasonable to ask for for this bike. I know I bought it new for around $1500 (can't quite recall the actual price). Anyway, thanks!
Link to the bike (I have the white, yellow, and blue one - size 50 or 52)

Ok, I guess I got it for more like $1,100. My mistake. Thanks again.

You're probably looking at 400-500 max. Go look on ebay for what similar bikes sold for in completed listings.

Check with your Cannondale dealer about their frame exchange program. I got about $900.00 for my old C'dale. You have to be the original owner!

I would think more than that, especially since we are heading into the riding season.

well,
1. smaller size
2. going on 5 years old
3. 1100/2= 550 (you rarely get over 50% of what you paid) though w/ the pedals you might get a little more (I would still keep them to put on the next bike)
or you could do like stowk said and trade it in to get a discount on a new cannondale. System six frame for something like 1300 (I think) and put your old components back on it. That way your essentially getting 700 for the frame. (system six retails for 2000). Just and example, but you could go with any of the cannondale models

Thanks guys. My LBS (sponsors the team I'm on) will sell me a SystemSix frameset for $1,100 and they said that they do not want my old Cdale so that's why I am contemplating selling it. I put an add up on Craigslist for $500 and got so many responses that I removed it because I am obviously asking less than I may be able to get (and I had another buyer offer significantly more). Anyway, I'll see what I can get. Honestly, it is a good bike and I would hate to sell it for less than $700 but we will see.
