Kinda bummed out. The sun's shining, Euro-trash pro's are racing without armwarmers, the roads are smooth and dry (mostly), and all the big races coming up are stage races. NTTAWWT, but does anyone else miss the classics already?

Not really. While I really love the classics, I also like the GTs, so it's a nice change. Epic mountain stages and TTs aren't something you get during classics season.

I'm going with no

edited to add that as long as Im hating and nobody else posted it, I just saw on VN that grand tour that nobody likes, just became less likable.

Classics are so much more interesting than stage races. Stage racing tends to be so predictable. I just wish Versus covered the classics like they covered the TDF

One thing I will say, the Giro is sooo much more fun to watch than the Tour.

The scenery, those crazy Italian roads, the racing style. Here's hoping Bettini lights up a few stages.

I remember like stage 1 or 2 a few years back, ended with a crazy twisty run-in over rr tracks then off camber turn into a crazy steep hill, and he jumped at just the right instant (had done his pre-ride). I totally dig that kinda sheet.

After having discovered the spring classics last year, I must agree with you. They do offer a better spectacle than the grand tours IMO.

The TdF is quickly becoming my least favorite race mostly because of the circus side-shows going on (ASO, UCI, Bruyneel etc.) Concerning the grand tours I'm switching alliances from "Vive le Tour" to "Viva el Giro".

I think with the TDF bs the past couple of years. These classics have been more competitive and fun to watch.

I'm just suffering from no races shown from now till the Giro. That is all!

Can't wait for the Giro to start with the new coverage I'll get. (not koad)

I miss the classics already as well. With most of my cycling miles coming from a rural commute, the bad roads and potential bad weather of the classics speak to me.
I know...I'm delusional... but pretending that I'm off the front riding into Roubaix is what gets me home some nights...

Now that Classics season is over, no. You'd have to pay extra to get Giro and/or Vuelta. From here on out getting a Premium subscription doesn't do a whole lot for you.

Yabutt you won't see mountain stages and TTs and all that come into play at the classics.

Both are good in their own way I guess but flat stages can be boring. Oh well... I still like both.

Well, I do like Lombardy, easily the prettiest of the classics.

And we have the Olympics this year, who knows whether that spins off into political theater, or is just a damn hard bike race (won by Bettini, yes I am on record now).

But I won't pile on the Tour. It's still le grande boucle and #1 in anybody's book. I'll be watching and you know you suckers will too.

Besides Lombardy, Worlds, the Olympics, the Giro and Vuelta, let's not forget the underappreciated Paris-Tours in early October, the perfect bookend to M-SR for the sprinters.

It's a shame the field is generally so small after a long year.

The TDF has always been my favorite. The television coverage is like no other. They must have had 20 helicopters in the air last year. Can't wait.

Good coverage, too bad it is the most boring 21 days of racing in the whole calendar.
