Had a great time this past weekend - thank you Chico Velo!!

Anyone know what/if anything happend on Table Mtn? I was heading back towards Durham by 10-10:30 and saw 3 EMS vehicles going redlights/sirens in opposite direction (back to Tbl. Mtn). Was there an accident on the decent (along Cherokee Rd)? The heat hadn't really set in yet, so I didn't think it was a heat/hydration issue.

Just curious.....

Sounds like a different route than was on tap back in 1994 when the ride was called the “Chico Euro Triple Century”. Back then it was up and down Skyway/and/or/Honey Run Road, highway 32, and Cohasset Road. The food was great (lots of it), and the wine tasting at the end of the day ensured everyone had to pedal back home drunk (myself included).

Current route took us up Humbolt Road and back down 32 then over and up Honey Run into Paradise. From there it's a downhill on Pentz Road to Durham Highway. Head out towards Highway 70 and then follow Table Mountain Road to the south (past the forebay), then east to catch Cherokee Road. It's up, up, and up from there to the nasty decent on the north side of Table Mtn. Then back west along Durham Highway towards the river, and back to the start.

Humbolt Road was in pretty bad shape (looked like a lunar scape from the potholes/craters in some places), and the decent from Table Mountain had lots of off-camber turns and potholes. Otherwise, a very nice course.

Not the same ride. IOW, different event entirely.

I did that ride maybe eight years ago, and Humboldt Road was pretty crappy then. I can only imagine what it is like now. That road can shake bolts loose.
