Sorry, but I don't look at this section more than twice a week. FAQ The Elite team is filled for this year. Dues are $35 per year. Jerseys and bibs are from Voler, and are discounted to about $50 each. There is an organized cat 3 team this year, also. There isn't much of a woman's team, this year. Lots of Masters. Main shops are in Winfield and Batavia. We put on tons of races every year, so be prepared to work. Out of the 200+ members, only 75 to 100 race the season. Some race one or two times, and 50 or so, don't race at all. MJH2 05-12-2008, 05:21 PM PM sent. Thanks! What do you need to know? Sorry, but I don't look at this section more than twice a week. MR_GRUMPY 05-12-2008, 07:07 PM Athletes by Design Huge racing club in N. Illinois At this time we have graduated 6 men and 6 women into the domestic Pro ranks. Fully sponsored NRC Elite team Sponsored Cat 3 team......and all the rest. 4's, 5's, Women, Masters, and Juniors. iliveonnitro 05-12-2008, 08:41 PM What do you give your cat3s? What about your 2s? MR_GRUMPY 05-13-2008, 04:37 AM The 1's & 2's get a full ride. Bikes, kits, entry fees & travel expenses. The 3's get somewhat less. Mostly fees, and some travel. Not all 3's in our club are on the 3's "team". Just the ones with "potential" to develop. iliveonnitro 05-13-2008, 08:04 AM No free kit(s)? When should I look into applying for next season? MR_GRUMPY 05-13-2008, 09:26 AM September-October-November. John Wilke 05-13-2008, 11:39 AM They do have nice kits though! :) http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc54/biffbradford/cycling/MAY%2010%20MUSKEGO/IMG_1059crop.jpg MR_GRUMPY 05-13-2008, 04:22 PM I don't care for the change of colors this year. The Elite team has a slightly different bib & jersey design with more white and less orange, since they merged with the Gear Grinder's team. The rank and file members kits are still a little too white for my tastes. This is the old kit. (pic from a 1-2 race in 2006.....this guy's a domestic pro now) . . . John Wilke 05-14-2008, 12:01 PM Who is 'that guy' ? MR_GRUMPY 05-14-2008, 07:02 PM That is Bryce Mead. He's with Jelly Belly now. The race that I got that pic from was something else. He broke away with over a half hour to go, and held off the field. Two other teammates, who had been sitting in, attacked at the bell, and stayed away to take 2nd and 3rd. Another teammate won the field sprint for 4th. 2006 was the year everybody hated us. All the top riders from that year are now gone to domestic pro teams. last year and this year are rebuilding years.
