Hello, I'm new to roadracing and I am going the buy the new Shimano Ultegra group for my roadbike frame. But should I buy the double or the triple chainring crankset? Which chainring size should I have in the front and in the back for one or the other?

Three or two speeds is a very personal choice. It will depend on where you are going to ride. If you have tought climbs in your area, I woul recomend the third speed. If the rides are not so "vertical" the two speed set will do great for you whithout loosing perfomance and saving some grams. 9 speed cassete in your back weel will be fine.
