I just bought a EC90 26mm equipe handlebar and a Thomson road stem, didnt install them yet. Did I make a mistake with these carbon bars? I read a few posts here with mixed opinions on carbon bars. I will install them with a torque wrench, carefully. Are many of you riding carbon bars or did I go too far with this???

I've been using a Kestrel carbon bar with a Thompson stem for over a year now and have had no concerns whatever. Part of my selection process for the Kestrel was that it was rated for using clip-on aero bars. I don't use aero bars, but I figured the center section must be a little stouter.

By the way, I was surprised at how little torque Thompson specifies for their stem clamps. If left to my own devices, I would have used a lot more torque, but nothing slips.
