I'm thinking of converting my oldest bike into a single speed since the drivetrain needs an overhaul. The bike is at a summer home and I might want to bring parts with me when I arrive there in summer to make the conversion. If anyone has done a similar conversion and knows a bottom bracket to use to get a proper chainline using the outer crank position, I would appreciate the input. I would be using the original campy high flange hubs, and would have no trouble rebuilding the rear wheel. Are there chainrings available, as it came with 36-49-54, and I might want to use a 42 chainring?
