They're making a comeback and all that, but I figure it's just you and me who remember them from back in the day... when Roger could still hear.

I just got the remastered Signals Calls & Marches and it rocks!

I always seemed to see MoB on an off-night. Or it was an off-night for me or something... The vinyl was wickedly produced.

comeback?!? i'd love to see them. i saw gang of four a year or two ago...twasn't bad...just, well, late. late or not, MoB would be a blast and i'm sure i'd drive a ways for it as well....

i always think of them as the american counterpart to england's the sound...both awesome and underappreciated...

Gang of Four? I remember them! But...I can't remember any of their songs. I know they had a couple good ones but that's going back to when I was 14 or 15.

i saw gang of four a year or two ago...twasn't bad...just, well, late. I saw GoF at Emerald City in Cherry Hill NJ back in 1981. One of the best shows ever. Frickin' amazing level of energy.

heh....i like to always channel e e...seems informal and juvenile...i'd like to think i'm moreso bringing stevie smith into her inner punctuation...maybe i'm fighting age...same with the elipses...can't quite bring myself to difinitively end something...who am i to say what thoughts have concluded? ;)

Damaged Goods!!!!!!

BTW, does the lower case thing mean you're channeling don marquis or e e cummings this evening?
The problem of leisure
What to do for pleasure
Ideal love a new purchase
A market of the senses
Dream of the perfect life
Economic circumstances
The body is good business
Sell out maintain the interest
Remember Lot's wife
Renounce all sin and vice
Dream of the perfect life
This heaven gives me migraine

Your kiss so sweet
Your sweat so sour
Sometimes I'm thinking that I love you
But I know it's only lust
The sins of the flesh
Are simply sins of lust
Sweat's running down your back
Sweat's running down your neck
Heated couplings in the sun
(Or is that untrue?)
Colder couplings in the night
(Never saw your body)
Your kiss so sweet
Your sweat so sour
Sometimes I'm thinking that I love you
But I know it's only lust
The change will do you good
I always knew it would
You know the change will do you good
You know the change will do you good
But this is a MoB thread: Walk into my room
Ask me jerky questions
Don't mean what you say
Immaculate protection
Play by the rules
So close to the vest
Hope that all's not lost
And this is not a waste

Stay just as far from me
As me from you
Make sure that you are sure
Of everything I do
'Cause I'm not not not not not not not not
Your academy
Your academy

oh what the hell...more Gof4 lyrics....

Blinking, paralyzed, flat on my back
They said our world is built on endeavour
But every man is for himself
Wealth is for the one that wants it
Paradise if you can earn it
History’s the reason
I’m washed out
Blinking, paralyzed, flat on my back
My ambitions come to nothing
What i wanted now seems just a waste of time
I can’t make out what has gone wrong
I was good at what i did
The crow's come home to roost and I’m the duke

oh what the hell...more Gof4 lyrics.... Aim for the body rare, you'll see it on TV
The worst thing in 1954 was the Bikini
See the girl on the TV dressed in a Bikini
She doesn't think so but she's dressed for the H-Bomb
(For the H-Bomb)

I found that essence rare, it's what I looked for
I knew I'd get what I asked for
...
Aim for politicians fair who'll treat your vote hope well
The last thing they'll ever do act in your interest
Look at the world through your polaroid glasses
Things'll look a whole lot better for the working classes
(Working classes)

I found that essence rare, it's what I looked for
I knew I'd get what I asked for

And more MoB People did not like that man Max Ernst.
(The Blessed Virgin Chastises the Infant Jesus)
He was so irrational Max Ernst.
(Garden Airplane-Trap, Garden Airplane-Trap)
The pleasures of the sight
The pleasures of the flesh
The vanities of life
He loved them all.
In the pretty house they go away.
(In the pretty house, In the pretty house)
In that pretty house they do not stay.
(Not in the pretty house, Not in the pretty house)
In the burning sea
In the laughing lights
In the luminous sea
In the brash gold night
In the turtle's head I blacked out fast.
In the city's halls always it laughed.
HA HA HA HA HA HA
Dada
