Just transfered down here for school and would like to see if there are a few people on the board from around here? I am looking for a few places to ride, I live in a pretty good spot, Scholars Quad right at 10th and the Bypass, spitting distance from Bloomington Cyclery. If anyone is from Bloomington holler I'd love to get together and ride.

I live in outside of Scipio (north of Seymour & east of Columbus) in the sticks. The majority of my riding is solo, but my favorite ride is from my house to Bloomington and back (120+ miles). The road that runs past the Buddhist temple is a very nice ride, be very careful if you detour over the low-water bridge because it is very slick; I crashed a motorcycle on it years ago on it and fractured a knee-cap.
Bikesmiths is THE bikeshop down there, I get better prices there than I can get off the internet and their service is great, they're just off the courthouse square. The Trek shop in Columbus (my primary bike shop) is owned by a past employee of Bikesmiths, and he carries on the tradition.
Be very careful of where you park your bicycle, I've seen more vandalized and destroyed bicycles down there than anywhere else... Personally I won't use a bike-lock, if I can't carry my bike with me I won't go there. If you live by this philosophy you'll find the famous bicycle town on Bloomington isn't as bicycle friendly as they let on, but when you ride bikes worth thousands of dollars it's well worth the sacrifice.
