Well, I want a scooter for motor pacing, so I must part with some stuff. Which 'cross wheels should I keep? Both sets are in great shape, so that's not an issue.

1. Mavic Helium Tubulars
2. CXP 30s, 32 hole, radial laced front, radial non-drive, db spokes, ultegra hubs. I would like the rudder effect these give me, but I have a real hard time parting with Heliums too, you know what I mean?

Instead of working, I try to make people laugh. Check-out my alter-ego, Mr. Spandex: http://www.siu.edu/~cycling/qa.htm

Euro,

I would suggest number two. Mavic service can be lengthy if you need to send them in. Never had a problem with Ultegras and if need be you can get any of the above parts quickly through the local LBS.

High as it was last year. For some reason after the sale of my Colnago Road bikeand purchase of an American made steel Cross bike, my E.T.C level has plumeted and I can not increase it no matter what I do. I drink Evian , eat Brie and put maynaise on my fries to no effect. Is there something I should do? I am no longer accepted in the Thur, Fri or Sunday ride groups anymore.

You called them Fries instead of Frites, your Euro-trash Coefficient has definately gone down. There is only one solution: Get a celeste Bianchi and make sure your energy drink matches the color perfectly (3 parts blue Gatorade, 2 parts lemon-lime) before every ride (using clear bottles of course).

Keep the Heliums. The CXP30s are great for being bombproof, but they're HEAVY! Worst case, if you trash the Heliums, you can always substitue a temp wheel that you borrow from a buddy.

I'm leaning towards keeping the CXPs, but PM me an offer, I don't think I can really go wrong either way.
