Anyone doing the NBW Tiverton Century(The Flattest Century in The East) ? I usually look forward to this ride but this year I have not put in enough miles to look forward to it, especially those last 10 miles !
Way out of shape, should be painful :(

Hey, if you want a flat century with breathtaking views check out the Mad River Century Ride, it happens every august, no big climbs, valley riding at it's most scenic. Look at www.madrivervalley.com for more info. We own the Wilder Farm Inn www.wilderfarminn.com and offer great lodging & mtn & road tours. Get out & ride! Luke

The Seacoast century might very well be the flattest in New England, but it is by no means the flattest in the East. If you can find a flatter ride then the Seagull Century -- http://www.seagullcentury.org/ -- I'll be impressed. There are literally two hills on that ride -- the bridge to Assateague Island, and the same bridge going back the other way. 100 miles, 200 feet of climbing.

did the flattest this past weekend and i liked the route this year better than years past. those last 10 miles that were the killers for me (seem to cramp up a lot at that stage) were a piece of cake this time as they were in the middle of the ride. great day for it.
my first century. It had great scenery and I really wanted to stop at the beach several times and go for a swim, but siince my buddies were way ahead of me I decided to continue. It was so cool being able to jump on to a train of bikers and draft for awhile and keep up a good amount of speed. All ages, all abilities and all kind of bikes were represented. This was my very first century. The last train I grabbed on to was cool except the ride went 102+ miles and I blew my energy loadtrying to finish strong for mile 100.That's cool, but I was expecting that last to miles so I peeled off and rode by myself to the finish.Great time and THANKS to all the volunteers who made this happen.
evs(my butt is so sore)
Great route changes, great support as always and another century into my legs. I had doubts about doing the whole 100, but once I got the cue sheet I said what the hell got those tough miles out of the way first and no New Bedford ! It wasn't the fastest century I ever did but I did it and I hope they keep the same route for next year - I would love to shave 45-60 minutes off my time. The only bad parts were those early miles riding directly into the sun, and at mile 45 where someone crashed not sure exactly what happened but I hope the guy is alright. The section where the bridge was under construction was bit hairy. They always seem to be able to find a hill that leads up to the finish, that climb back up to Umass was a leg breaker- but then again I was in no shape to be doing a century so a bridge overpass would have been a leg breaker to me.
