I hear it will be a full carbon that is cheaper than the Orca. 0119 09-08-2004, 03:39 PM Is all I've heard. Around half the price of the Orca says the local shop that carries Orbea. I just got an Orbea Zona 2003 model that was still new in the box at the distributor. Got an incredible deal, people out to check out what 2003's are still available for the prices their offering. They say more info is going to be available from the dealers after Interbike. SBeachBiker 09-08-2004, 10:39 PM A LBS here in Miami, FL, is expecting them in any day now. Supposed price around $2500. The LBS' web site has a couple of photos, and the address is suncycling.com (Sorry, I don't know how to make that into a link). Colors will be silver or orange with black. Let us know if you hear anything further...this could be a nice alternative to Trek. bikefreax 09-09-2004, 04:36 AM Spanish firm ORBEA has created a new model for 2005 that has evolved from their top of the line Orca carbon fibre frame. ONIX is a monocoque model, with sculpted tube shapes that are more rounded than the Orca and offer a different ride quality, according to Orbea's marketing manager Joseba Arrizaga. Shown here with Shimano's Ultegra 10, the reported 8.375kg weight of Onix will make this one of 2005's most intereresting and affordable new bikes. This is from www.cycling news.com weasy 09-09-2004, 06:31 AM I searched the website and can't find any references to Onix. bikefreax 09-09-2004, 06:38 AM I searched the website and can't find any references to Onix. http://www.cyclingnews.com/tech/2004/shows/?id=eurobike/part3 Go to www.cyclingnews.com and on the first page at the top left is a link for eurobike. I just called the LBS where I got my Orbea and asked about the ONIX. The guy said it's literally on it's way. They should be getting the packages either today or tomorrow. The bikes will be on the showroom floor as early as next week. So far, the complete bikes will only come with the ULTEGRA 9 for now as they still have no word on the ULTEGRA 10's hitting their store. Also, the wheels will be the new SHIMANO wheels. Now, pricing. For the ONIX with the ULTEGRA 9 package, the bike will run around $2500- $2600. Once the Ultegra 10 comes in the bike will run around $2900-$3000. The frameset alone is also available for a build up at $1600. I'll be dropping by next week for a test drive. I'm all giddy and cant wait!!! Joe santosjep 09-10-2004, 07:41 AM Is all I've heard. Around half the price of the Orca says the local shop that carries Orbea. It has a FSA Pro Elite compact carbon crankset thought the Orbea website doesn't list it that way. It is sweet & the Ultegra 10 is buttery smooth shifting. Can't wait for the first warm snap down here in Texas. This pic is from the LBS website & is before they put on The Elites (it comes with Equipes or American Classics) steveroberts13 11-14-2004, 12:09 PM yesterday with Ultegra 10 & upgraded the wheels to Mavic Kysrium Elites.
