Live Steam 09-09-2004, 06:02 AM I'm surprised that none of you have been touting this as the magic bullet that will get GW! I mean after reading all the garbage that has been cut and paste here over the course of two days, this certainly had to be on someone's radar! LOL!!!

Bush fell well short of meeting his military obligation thread just below yours a bit.
rufus 09-09-2004, 06:33 AM maybe we're just not knee-jerk reactonaries like you and bill.
"ooh, something bad about kerry, i better post it on RBR quick!"
Turtleherder 09-09-2004, 06:53 AM I heard a report on the radio that stated that Georges commander was complaining of pressure to change the performance reports and specifically that the commander stated that "he would back date, but not rank", implying that he had been asked to falsify attendence records. How are they going to spin this?

kerry inflicted two of his "purple heart" wounds himself accidently, never required hospitalization, came back to the country and admitted commiting war crimes, said others did, didnt report it at the time, went to france to meet with the nv communists, has his picture hanging on the wall of the communist war museum and wont sign form 180 to release over 100 pages of his files from the pentagon.

you sound like a broken record bill...
Duane Gran 09-09-2004, 07:29 AM The guy has done more military service than I have, so I would feel hypocritical to criticize him. Of course, the doesn't stop Bush or his minions from attacking McCain or Kerry's military record.
you sound like a broken record bill...
A broken David Hasselhoff record at that

They've already put out the spin on it, by trying to assert that no documents were ever generated by his chain of command in the first place, ie: it's all his former commander's fault.
So if they "never existed", there's no problem, right?

its your boy and your minions who keep walking around in the vietnam crap. if you dont like the answers, quit asking the questions.

Turtleherder 09-09-2004, 08:08 AM as usually you did not answer my question. The fundamental problem is that Kerry showed up for duty and was in harms way where as Bush could not even be bothered to show up and serve his time in the officers club. Attacking the messenger does not answer the question of where was Georgie?

i wasnt intending to give you an answer. your post just proves the hypocrisy of the left.

service during what war?
velocity 09-09-2004, 08:25 AM service during what war?
Here's a key piece of the content that the Steamer refers to above from the NY Daily News:
Col. Jerry Killian, who was Bush's commander at Ellington Air Force Base, wrote that Col. Buck Staudt, a Bush family supporter and the head of the Texas Air National Guard, put the squeeze on him to go easy on Bush.
"I'm having trouble running interference and doing my job," Killian wrote in a 1973 memo obtained by CBS.
But Killian would not budge and his memos reveal why he clipped Bush's wings on Aug. 1, 1972.
"On this date, I ordered that 1st Lieutenant Bush be suspended not just for failing to take a physical, but for failing to perform to U-S Air Force/Texas Air National Guard standards."
Killian then added: "Bush has made no attempt to meet his training certification or flight physical."
The White House did not question the veracity of the Killian memos...

2 small things. One I think STEAM would not be one of my boys or minions. If you are relying on the vague notion that this thread has anything to do with Vietnam. Remember that Vietnam was in SE ASIA and Alabama is in the Southern US.
Secondly. This was a thread devoted completely to the miscreant past of one GEORGE W. BUSH no one had invoked the specter of anyone else until you decided to vomit it up.

again, i thought it was an article about chicken george avoiding service. we all know it can't be about vietnam service, cause chicken george didn't serve in vietnam. and now it appears he didn't even serve in the national guard.

then thats weird. he must have received his honorable discharge from the same place that kerry got his purple hearts.

hey, if a nobody like john kerry can get the military to gin up a few purple hearts, i'm sure it could be arranged for the wastrel son of a prominent texas politician to get an honorable discharge, despite being a deserter.

Here is the funny part (listen up BILL I know you will love this). Guess who accused Senator Lloyd Bentson of pulling strings to get his son into the national guard and guess who accused Dukakis of trying to get deferrments during Korea.
Well George H.W. Bush of course.
(from la times 1988)
Ahhh... good times.
Turtleherder 09-09-2004, 10:29 AM Georgie and Dickie, the two chicken hawks in charge, who neither of which were ever in harms way or shot at, have the brass balls to question Kerry's service, now that's hypocrisy. "I am proud of my service and honorable discharge." Yea right, proud of the fact that he skated through without having to even show up!
