Yes, I believe that you are the first person in the world to own a Madone 5.2. I believe the frame weight is 4.2 grams. You will still be dropped by riders on Litespeeds.

I saw a woman buying a Madone 5.2 a few weeks ago. Maybe she was the first?

WD11 I heard that Christophe beat you up spring hill this morning??? Hey let me know when Target gets my size litespeed in. I wouldn't mind having one to remember what the old school technology was like. I hated to hear that Pacific bought them out. So much for Chattanooga.

My wife and I purchaced our Madone 5.2's in mid August from Cycle Ranch in Scottsdale AZ. We've ridden mountain bikes for several years but these are our first roadbikes. If we would have known how much fun roadbiking was, we would have started years ago. The bikes are incredible, we test rode some Litespeed (stiff and jittery), and Lemond (soft and squishy), but the Madones seemed to be the best suited to our tastes. We went with the Team colors, and both have the double chainring 9sp Ultegra. We haven't ridden any hills so I don't know if I'll regret not waiting for a tripple chainring. But so far the double works fine. The ride is great, stiff enought to get the power to the ground but it still absorbs the road vibration. After looking at many bikes and test riding a few, the Madone sure seemed like a great bike at a greay price. I think folks who get this bike won't be dissapointed.
