Hello,
Does anyone have any clipless road pedals (with cleat) for sale. I am looking for a 3 hole system. Please email me at Aespar1@aol.com or aespar1@uic.edu
Thanks
Adrian

Why don't you just go to eBay or the classifieds? People sell pedals all the time.

Pedals are what attach you to your bike. Unless they release properly, you're going to have problems. Used pedals that have not been maintained often fail to release at critical moments. Even though they have adjusting screws, they tend to get mucked up over time.

If you are a skier, you know that your BINDINGS are the most critical safety equipment you will buy and when you rent (or buy) skiis, they ALWAYS get your height, weight, and skiing style so that they can adjust the bindings. Too tight, and you'll break a leg when you fall and your skis do not release. Too loose, and an aggressive skier will drop a ski when he hits a bump, making the binding think he fell and releasing from his ski boot. I know when I first started skiing, I wanted those babies to pop off my feet AS SOON AS I fell. Pro skiers tighten them as far down as possible, because at high speeds, the binding would release over any rough surface if not clamped onto their boots. In fact, last season I had a ski shop refuse to service my skis because the bindings were not listed in their book, and they wouldn't take the responsibility of touching them.

You can get a good pair of new pedals with a mfgr. warranty for under $100 (my Shimano SPD-A515's cost $60 brand new). To me, my health is more than worth it, and I service them myself every 1,000 miles (or after any fall). While they may weigh 100 grams more than the $350 pair, I simply carry 0.22 lbs less water (or eat one less Oreo cookie the day of my ride) and I'm all square. :)
