Hey I'm just getting back into riding again after 2-3 years off due to family, job, and running a business...anyway, I don't have much time to ride except for a few hours at night. As we get into the dark season, I'm thinking about one of those HID lighting systems. I was wondering if anyone knows/has experience with running these on an 'oversize' bar...I'm running an FSA K-Wing. I know the other option is to run a helmet-mount, but I have always thought of that as an off-road setup...Anyway, will the bar-mounts work on the K-Wing? Thanks, SEM

I don't know about the HID systems, but you're wise to check it out. I have a Niterider Evolution, which comes with both a handlebar mount and a helmet mount. The handlebar mount does not fit on my oversized road bike bar, so I use the helmet mount. Sometimes I'm actually glad to have the light on the helmet, as I can sort of signal drivers who seem like they might not see me. When cross traffic is stopped at lights or stop signs, I turn my head towards them to make sure they see me and don't pull out into me. However, if you really want the handlebar mount, I think you can buy one separately. I believe I saw a Niterider mount for oversized handlebars at their website.

yeah I saw that mount, but it didn't mention 'wing' shaped bars..only that it went up to 31.8 oversize bars....
I guess I've been leaning towards helmet mount, it seems to make sense to have the light going where you are looking...thx
