hi all. i have the first generation 10spd record carbon ergo levers, which have been wonderful for the 3.5 years i've owned them. in the last 2 weeks or so, i've noticed a buzzing type rattle coming out of the left lever. It seems to be predominantly when i'm in the small front chainring, and only when going over cracked pavement (ie not constantly). Any idea what this might be?

The shifting and braking are as good as day one, and the lever hasn't moved on the bars or anything.

thanks,
brian

Perhaps the rubber stop in the back of the brake lever has become unseated or worn down.

Could your cable tension be loose? When in the small chainring reach under the downtube and see if it has some tension or is loose enough that it would allow the head of the cable to rattle in the lever.
