I just got the new Colorado Cyclist catalog and checked out the pricing on the '05 Ultegra groupset--good Heavens! $1157.00! In my pre-caffeinated state, that is darn near double the price of the "old" 6500 group. Thank you Shimano, it should now be easier to sell the misses on a Campy Centaur group with a few upgrades (Phil Wood bb, Chorus levers). Nah, she'll still tell me to pack sand, but one never knows until they try.

I just replaced my Chorus ten speed cassette at $150.00. I got a 10% discount but still its a big chunk of change. 10 Speed=more $$$$$$$. The prices are up on everything.

Since my CC catalog takes a few weeks to find its way to England, does it mention what cassette ranges will be available? Like something with a 13 bottom, like Campy's 13-26?
Thanks.

I don't have the catalog in front of me here at work, but I do not remember seeing cassette ranges listed. I went to CC's website and wouldn't you know, they are not listing Ultegra 6600 online. Neither groupset or cassettes. Perhaps because it isn't in stock yet;-)

I looked under the component listings and don't recall seeing any prices or specs on the '05 Ultegra.. Just the one price for the entire Group.

Between last night and this AM, the European Shimano site posted an announcement regarding the 10spd Ultegra, available they say in December.
Cassettes:
11x23
12x23
12x25
12x27
13x25
14x25
15x25
16x27
The last few are what they call "junior" cassettes. I haven't kept up with regulations but I guess juniors are still gearing restricted in races.
