i just bought a bike that came with nucs, so i was interested and looked into this a few months ago. from what i recall, they switched names around 2001 or 2002, but the only real difference is that the neutrons have thinner non-drive side spokes and spokes that are black anondized. otherwise, i believe that the rims, hubs, front and rear drive side spokes are identical.

That's the year they changed from Nucleons to Neutrons.

Spokes went black and they're all bladed, front & back-both sides.

Hubs and rims are the same although they lightened them in 2003 and again in 2004.

I thought the nucleon spokes were also bladed, front and rear, drive and non-drive?
